Hay

We are selling 1st cutting small bales from 2024 now. Call Trevor 208.290.1671.

  • Here at Cushman Family Farm we grow mostly forage crops (hay, silage or pasture). The majority of our hay/silage crops are alfalfa, grass or more commonly a blend of the two. We also grow small grains (triticale, oats, barley, wheat) to be harvested as hay or silage.

  • We currently produce small square bales and large round bales.

  • We work very hard to produce high quality hay. Our goal is to provide a hay buying experience that you will want to repeat. It is very important to us that you are satisfied with the product that you purchase. The most important step in this process is to ensure that you understand what is available. We do this mostly by keeping hay separated/documented by field. Each field will produce a different quality of hay based on many factors such as: plant maturity, weather during drying, number of days drying, moisture content during baling, cutting number (1st, 2nd, 3rd), and species/variety of hay.

  • All of the hay we have for sale is BARN-STORED to protect it from the elements. None of the hay we baled in 2024 was rained on prior to baling.

  • None of the 2024 crop was sprayed with any chemicals.

  • Some of the crops were fertilized with manure/compost.

  • We go to great lengths to bale the hay under the best possible conditions (not too wet, not too dry).

  • We have equipment to help load your trailer.

  • We have a scale here on the farm so you can be sure of what you are getting.

  • Although the hay is priced by the ton, we are happy to sell whatever quantity you need. We can also sell you multiple types of hay at one time, for your different types of animals.

  • We would be happy to help you select hay that would suit your situation best. If you have any questions, please call Trevor 208.290.1671.
